I've been real into the idea of comic books being subversive
lately. I was harassing Dan (motorfish) about this.
I was looking at the Naruto manga, it's got this positive try hard and you can do anything message to it that strikes a sour cord with me.
It's the kind of stuff that will help kids be successful businessmen when they grow up.
fuck that shit.
I like the idea of comix being bad for you.
Deviant sex and drugs and all that. you know... evil underground.
It's one of the last mediums that can really corrupt the youth.
It's important not to let video games out do us.
yaknawwhatimsayin?

that's my rant.

I finally gots all the Killed books mailed out.
It took forever and I'm a bastard but they're on the way.
I threw and issue of my old comic Universe so big in each one.

I'm more settled into this Dicecat. I like this living on the edge of
chinatown lifestyle. Everyday makes me feel like Big trouble in little china. "china is here mr burton"  I've been watching lots of  old kung foo films too. good stuff. I like that project A.

I'm co-co-editing the new color Meathaus anthology that wont be called Meathaus and will leave stuff like Flight crying for it's mommy.
It's gonna be good.

Also this is the big push month for King city. My catmaster epic.
I'm gonna nail book one shut.

The Naruto thing is totally true. It's very go get-em. That's honestly my problem with most Shonen manga. Morals are great for sunday school, but comics are a trash medium and should stay at least somewhat trashy.

HEAVY METAL :skull:

Speaking of comic books subverting the minds of America's youth, have you ever submitted anything to Heavy Metal? Dan said somebody had sent something to them and I think it was you but uh my memory does not serve me (I refuse to tip). Anyway I can't find any specific submission info on their website or in the magazine which is weird.

P.S. PANKERS GO TAY-TAY

PANKERS HURRY UP!

Yeah, I been in that Heavy metal.
I lovve that megazine plus its run by one of the ninja turtle dudes.
I defy you to beat that.

Now you have to do a tribute to Pankers in one of your comics, like a giant Pankers who tay-tays on the Space Needle.

Ninja Turtle Dude is Kevin Eastman, right? There are only two of them so I have a fifty-fifty chance of being right and looking really cool. Anyway I cannot beat that you win.

People keep saying HURR YOU SHOULD SEND THEM SOME SHIT so I'm curious as to what the deal is regarding size of stuff, resolution, etc.? They are mysterious. The stuff varies wildly in quality though so I'm wondering if they are loose cannons who don't play by the rules. The last one I got (years ago) had some really sketchy pencil stuff in it that featured a cowgirl type character who was composed mostly of boobs.

SCORE

300 DPI?? Interesting. Does that print well? Somehow I figured it would have to be at least 400-600, my stuff always looks like butt if I scan it less than about 400. Thanks for the info though.

At some point I will go tay-tay FUCKING METAL style. For now I need to try to get a portfolio and a resume (AAHAHA HA AHLAHHHAAHAHAHAHAH etc.) together and try to get back into the workforce.

How's the current stuff coming along?
