I'm on my way up to Canada in the morning for another Vancouver Comicon
[link]Me and Moritat and probably Corey Lewis and Canadas own Steve Rolston are guests at the show.
Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, in Vancouver
Sunday, April 22nd
11am to 5pm
Radiation is all done and hopefully I'm done with cancer.
with nuthing but tattoos and a scar to show for it. oh and the nut
but whos counting.
I'm almost 30 pages into Multiple warhedz. Today I drew a
werewolf fight scene where one wolf gets hit so hard his intestines come out his face.
My Meathaus SOS story is got 3 pages out of 11 done.
I've never done anything past 1 page comics in color so it's an event.
Floating dougnuts and red space suits.
I'm still writing King city 2. I think the first pages are due in another month. I went back and changed what i was going to do after reading reviews and talking to some people about what they liked in the first one.
Basically more of the cat stuff, alien girl and another xombie Korea flash back also lots of catmasters.
It should be fun.
Also today I went to the quarter shelf at the half price books wich is really the only place I get comix anymore and got some old Post brothers --amazing stuff, I love Matt Hoawarth books.. Dreadstar and Smoke wich I think I like.
I've been reading lots of Poison elves (I only have the Mulehide issues) It's weird to think that he was only 25 or so when he was drawing the ones that I like the best. I worry about peaking too early sometimes. There's a lot of artists whos early work I drasticly prefer. Like Howard Chaykin or Jim Starlin . Especially John Byrne --you can find the issue where he stopped trying.
Staying enthusiastic is the real challenge.
hmm Kaluta and Moebius are still amazing though so it's possible.
On another note no one these days makes Conan comix I like and that is the saddest thing i the world.
by mitra by crom.
That's all I got tonight.
ill see you there!
I'm still a bit pissed that I won't get a proper Marvel Essentials book for Conan, it seems. I'd much rather read all those Buscema issues in a B&W phone book, as opposed to the color-reprint slim (and overpriced) collections they're releasing now.
Well, least you'd be represented there w/ the "Space Grrrl" logo nonetheless.
Can't wait for some multiple warheadz action!
I guess it wouldn't hurt if you sent me a better quality PSD of it for later, but for the convention I've already printed out a bunch of copies and I am happy with it, as happy as one can be with Kinko copies
Hope you don't mind but on the back of the mini's it has a secondary copy of the logo and has "Designed by Brandon Graham" there as well
We should storm the Dark Horse HQ and tell them they need to put us on the Conan team because Crom demands it!
CROM!!!
