Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

I did all the conventions I planned for the year and now all I gotta do is wall up the batcave and draw. Just me my girl, this giant computer and huge penny.
The next time I go to any comic shit I should have King city 2 and the next Multiple warheadz done. I'm gonna need to dig up some more communist rap to get in the right mode. "rip through em from the tip of my Mao, say Tung"

I like how much you've gotta learn just to make comics.
Today I was reading up on Existentialism so I could make a fart pun.
And then looking at fonts to come up with some stuff for lettering the conan comic my lady is drawing. And tommorow I have to come up with how an alien brothel will look. Tentacles and dripping vents im thinking.

I was talking to a bunch of other comic dudes at the last con and I was supprized at how many of them script a whole book out before they draw it.

I'll have a bunch more stuff to put up soon as I break these deadlines in half.

I finally, finally wrestled King City 1 out of my friend's hands and finished reading it, and I think I'm going to purchase a copy for myself. Your bizarre world is handled so nonchalantly by the characters (ie: let me just throw this syringe at my cat and I'll be right with you) and the characters themselves are easy to relate to (but not easy to understand).

I'm under the impression that King City 2 will finish the story. If that's true then I can't wait to see how this will come to a close, and if I'm wrong, then I have a lot to look forward too.

(I'm hoping the Ninja Nurse can make a background appearance in the next volume.)

i read somewhere where the harem girls were highly educated because when they weren't entertaining, they'd read a lot, and maybe have access to the king's tutor - who knows. course i don't know why i mention this, they'd probably keep their books in another room entirely. maybe a natural waterfall tucked away in a corner, i would have to imagine whatever species you are, everything enjoys a good shower

I've tried scripting stories out... dunno how people do it. I think I'm just gonna break some paper out this summer and totally wing it on some short stories.

Hopefully chris will have more DW scripts soon.
